Guide to Content Warnings

PLEASE NOTE: Because this is a horror blog, the reviews will cover disturbing/scary material for entertainment purposes. Expect to see creepy and upsetting things in the reviews and illustrations including, but not limited to, swearingbloodgoreviolenceskeletons and corpsesdemonsghostsimages and/or mentions of deceased peoplethe supernatural, and "creepy" animals such as spiders and snakes. All of these things are likely to appear without a content warning as they are all common horror staples. While I try to keep my language clean in the reviews for kid's books, there will probably be swearing in the Y/A and Adult reviews. If any of these things disturb, offend, or trigger you, please, DO NOT read this blog for your own well being. By reading the blog, it's assumed that you are willing to be frightened and disturbed for your own entertainment. Read more about content warnings below.

Content Warnings

Why use content warnings on a horror blog? Because some horror fans might enjoy creepy ghost stories, but don't want to see blood and guts. There are others who may love gore, but draw the line at depictions of sexual violence. I'm a fan of splatter punk and "extreme horror", but I go to pieces if I see an animal get hurt. So I have included content warnings before each review, so you know what kind of ride you're in for before picking up the book I'm reviewing. To avoid spoilers, the content warnings are only visible when highlighted, so you can easily skip them if you want. But they're there if you need them.

Now, I can't reasonably cover every single possible trigger out there, but I tried my best to hit all the major ones. Below is a complete list of all the content warnings used on this blog. You can use ctrl + F to search for particular content warnings if you don't want to view all of them.
